Agronomy & Trial Plots

Our agronomist, Richard Allinson, has been employed by Tynegrain Agriculture for 25 years and is a highly trained professional. He is a founder member of the BASIS professional register for agronomists and also holds the FACTS certificate for fertiliser advice.

Tynegrain Agriculture can source a wide variety of top quality branded agrochemicals to protect and nurture your crops such as:

  • Pesticides
  • Insecticides
  • Fungicides
  • Herbicides
  • Weedkillers
  • Seed Dressings

Tynegrain Agronomy offers farmers the opportunity to separate agrochemical buying from agronomy advice.

This allows Tynegrain agronomist Richard Allinson to source from the agrochemical market to select the correct product at the most competitive price.

Richard is totally independent from the agrochemical trade, achieving substantial savings on agrochemicals for farmers at a level that individual farmers would find hard to match.

Richard is totally committed to achieving the highest yields for his clients' crops at the lowest costs. This is achieved by regular field walking on a weekly basis during the growing season, followed up with computerised field reports outlining his recommendations. Agrochemicals are then delivered direct from the supply trade at group discount prices.

Tailored information and advice for your area.

GrainCo Ltd has developed crop demonstration sites across the North of England and Scotland which play an important role in demonstrating the benefits of different crop varieties, seed rates, seed treatments and agronomy.

The large numbers of our farmer clients who regularly turnout for our scheduled meetings prove that they are an excellent way of discussing current products and techniques. Large plots drilled with a farm scale drill give our farmers a good indication on the effects of different products on increasing yields and maximising crop performance.

Wylam in the Tyne Valley is our trial crop site which is maintained by TyneGrain Agronomists. This site and our regular meetings enable our reps and agronomists to gather the best information and advice to pass on to our farmers in order to maximise productivity.
